It's only been one game and Duke is not known for it's faceoff guys. Anyways, credit to him for doing well at such an early stage of his career. If he's having this much success, this early, watch out for Drew Kennedy at Hopkins next year and Ian Gordon at Loyola next year. Kennedy went around 70% against Liam last spring and a couple summers ago Gordon went like 17/20 against O'connor in the Under Armour games.

Drew Kennedy is from Malvern Prep.
Also, Payton was 57% at Duke last year. Not bad.
pinch/pop-while I can't argue with what you saw when Liam went against Drew or Ian, I have seen personally the difference in college face off play vs summer or high school. The wings are much more important and involved in face off wins. Many lsm's and d mids on wings are the one of the fastest players on the team and great athletes.
That wing play makes it hard to say what you saw with be repeated at the college level. One example I have is Matt Dolente (also from Malvern Prep). In high school he killed and even dominated at the U19 World's. In college, he has around 50% for his career. I will argue Hopkins (I know this sounds crazy) has not had the wing play during his career to help him or anyone be dominate at the X.
4 years ago, many people would have said he was a no brainer for transitioning into a top college FOGO.
Hopefully, Drew is dominant and i too believe Ian will be also. I just think we need to give them time to adjust.

Do face-off guys make good wingmen if they are fast and great scrappers for loose balls? Certainly would help in coordination/communication.

Alex Daly went about 80-85% against O'connor and about 70-80% against Kennedy. it will be good to if Daly can do well with Army Black Kights next year

Sorry, without a link or some other proof, I'll respectfully throw the BS flag on those stats. Got the better of them? Maybe. Those gaudy percentages? Don't buy it.
