Just finished my bout against andy corno and ended up 76%.... I was 25/33 with 11 gb's .... currently I'm 55/93 = 59% second in percentage in the MLL and I rank #1 in GB's with 25 in three games... One thing I have noticed is the perennial powerhouse guys are really struggling... Snider and Corno are both now below 50% this is pretty shocking as both are exceptional fogos... I think alot of this has to do with the rule change which is the "set " call and now if you get caught grabbing the ball its a "30 sec"... maybe there is some room for ncaa rookies after all....I have a game this weekend against Washington, if any DC guys need tickets message me and I will try to get them comped for you...

It was interesting to see Corno struggle so much, I can see how hard it would be to be consistant against the best fogos in the world. Going over 65% in the MLL is an accomplishment in itself.
Im going to my first MLL game in person this month when Philly plays Chi-town in St. Louis. I cant wait to see Corno square off against Kallauger. Should be a great match up.

Kallaugher wasn't there when they played LA (I was looking forward to seeing him vs. Kelly), but hopefully you'll get to see him by then.

hmm.. Brennen against Jenkins could be an interesting matchup. Valakis (sp) rocked Jenkins last weekend.

At the half, brennan is getting killed by Ben DeFelice, Towson University '04. Brennan has only 3 of 13 face-offs. And looks like Stephen Peyser is taking over for him, but not doing so well himself at 1 of 3. Tough call for the coaches to not play Justin Berry this weekend, who was just below 50% for the Pride's first two games.

Did you see Peter Jacobs in the post game interview? He was nearly freaking out about faceoffs. I would be surprised to ever see Brennan again playing for them. Why would he not go to Peyser more than 3 times? Defeclice is a good faceoff guy but has yet to be anything close to dominant in the MLL.
Alex, what do you think about next weeks mathcup with them

I'm as suprised as you all are to see defalice whip Brennen. The final stats were brenne 8/25 32% with 1 gb. I figured at least a 50/50 battle. Defalice knows what he's doing but he's more of a utility player than an MLL FOGO... Brennen just played his last MLL game for a while, Imagine if Jenkins was out there it woulda been worse... Berry will most definitley dress against me next week.. Hopefully Brennen will be able to get up to speed in the coming weeks and make a comeback... This just goes to show us the difference between NCAA/Club and the Pros... With that being said I hope the Club guy is starting for the hawks today....

One tought I had is that Brennan may not have known of the MLL rules versus college rules. The MLL was 'down' and then whistle last year, but switched back to 'down,' 'set' and whistle this year. Not making excuses for the kid. But that can throw someone off after taking 300+ face-offs during the year. He may have also had a national championship hang-over.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "down-set-whistle" cadence threw him off. I have a lot of trouble when I have to do face-off with that during a summer tournament after training on the "down-whistle" system all year.

Very true I remember at hotbeds last summer we had two scrimmages the first day before real games started and during those scrimmages I was having a rough time because of the "set" which don't have up in mass. high school. But once i got use to it I began to absolutely love it and I really think it helped me dominate that tournament. Also I was watching a re-run of the game tonight on CN8 and I realize that Brennan was just forced to switch the head he was using. Not an excuse, but he is no longer allowed to use the proton power that he has been using all season.

Just a point of clarification he used a primer during the season. But it was still STX and he did have to switch regardless, which is always tough.
